A year or so ago, I started doing daily card draws to get more comfortable with the tarot. Before getting ready in the morning, I shuffle my deck, draw a card, and look up its meaning. Throughout the day I try to focus on that particular card and look for its influence. For example, if I draw the 4 of Cups (which has been coming up for me a lot lately), I try to be a bit more social at work to counteract my tendency to withdraw. I keep track of what cards I draw and sometimes when I look back, I can see trends in the cards corresponding to what was happening in my life.

Do you read for yourself on a regular basis? What spreads do you use?

i read for myself pretty much everyday, just throughout the day, whenever i feel the need. i do tend to read in the first hour or so that i'm awake, but not to draw daily cards. it's all question specific. (also, i use the phrase 'right now' instead of 'today' because i find it more useful.)

i've drawn daily cards at various times, and for long periods of time, but i do not like it. it is great for learning or connecting with the cards, but personally i get too uptight when i get a card i don't want to see at that moment. lol makes me uptight for the rest of the day, wondering how it's going to play out.

i have kept tarot journals and i'm a big proponent of that for anyone - especially beginners. (i'm a big proponent of journalling in general.) i've been taking a hiatus though because it was becoming too time-consuming. that said, i have posted a few readings on my account here already, so i may be cycling back into it! :D

i'm not a fan of pre-made spreads at all. i'm much more likely to just ask directly whatever it is i want to know, and have a conversation with the deck. when i want to read but don't have a question, i ask, 'what should i be asking about?' and go from there.
